HOOVER, Emory

Emory W. Hoover, district manager of the circulation department of the Pharos-Tribune, died Friday morning at 4 o'clock in the Cass county hospital after a heroic fight against infection which followed an emergency operation for appendicitis. He was 43 years old and lived at 1315 E. Market street. Before joining the circulation staff of the Pharos-Tribune Mr. Hoover managed the Luna theater, then under control of the Hornbeck interests. he was not only known in Logansport but throughout Cass and all adjacent counties as well. Mr. Hoover became ill August 1 and was taken to the hospital on August 3 for the emergency operation. After the operation he at times, displayed signs of improvement but a few days ago he started sinking gradually and never made any substantial rallies. The body was removed to the Pierce and Easterday funeral home where funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 1 o'clock under the auspices of the Christian Science church. Burial will be made at Attica, Ind., former home of the deceased. Surviving are a widow, Mrs. Hallie Hoover; a daughter, Miss Dema Hoover, who graduated from high school in the class of 1933, his mother, Mrs. Florence Hoover of Attica; a sister, Mrs. Lawrence Roberts, also of Attica, and two brothers, Ralph Hoover of Attica and Paul Hoover of Evansville, Ind.
